Analog meets digital

Analog meets digital

During a meeting with a client the other day, I couldn’t help but notice she was scribbling notes furiously in an actual notebook with an actual pen. Sitting across from them, was me with my little touch screen Chromebook, typing my notes into Google Keep. I love having a document available on whatever device I happen to be using at that moment, and Chrombook to phone happens all the time. We were definitely a study in contrasts!

But not as big a contrast as I thought. She explained that she was using a Rocketbook, a very different kind of notebook. It uses a special pen, can be erased with an eraser, and the pages can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, so it’s reusable and less harmful to the environment.

Here’s the digital part- using a free app and your phone you can digitize your pages directly into the app of your choice- Slack, Gmail, Dropbox and many more. If you want, the text can be converted to digital text so it’s editable. So it starts as a pen and can end up as a digital file. The lack of environmental impact is icing on the cake. Really cool.
