January 28th is Data Privacy Day

Do you know how your personal information is being used, collected or shared today? Chances are you don’t know exactly where your data is or how it’s being used. But you should. Since the late 2000’s, January 28th of every year has been designated Data Privacy Day in the United States. It’s designed to raise awareness and more importantly, to get people to ask the questions and get answers.
It’s such a daunting question that it’s hard to know what to do or how to do it. Here’s a place to start- the Stay Safe Online website. There’s all sorts of information about the history, and need for this day and awareness. There is so much information in fact, it’s a bit daunting to absorb.
